The new CIR came to Azuchi in August, his name is Giulio . Similarly to Elisa , the former CIR who worked until April 2009, Giulio is also from Italy.
From now on, Giulio will contribute to several activities promoted by our association, The following is a short introduction.
Hi, I am pleased to meet you. My name is Giulio and I was born and raised in Rome, from now on I will work as a Coordinator for International Relations in Azuchi Town Hall. When I was 16 years old I was able to do homestay in Anjo, a city close to Nagoya, and that started my interest in Japanese society.
Here in Azuchi I will do my best to deepen the understanding of cultural differences among Italy, Japan, America and the like.

È arrivato il nuovo Coordinatore per le Relazioni Internazionali!
Agli inizi di agosto è arrivato ad Azuchi Giulio, il nuovo Coordinatore per le Relazioni Internazionali. Come la predecente Coordinarice, che ha lavorato fino all’ aprile di quest’anno, Giulio viene dall’Italia.
Da ora in poi Giulio collaborerà a diverse attività per la nostra associazione, eccovi una breve introduzione.
Piacere di conoscervi! Mi chiamo Giulio, sono nato e cresciuto a Roma, in Italia e da oggi in poi lavorerò al Comune di Azuchi in qualità di Coordinatore per le Relazioni Internazionali. L’esperienza di homestay presso Anjo, una città vicino a Nagoya, all’età di 16 anni ha dato inizio alla mio interesse per la società giapponese.
Al fine di approfondire la comprensione delle differenze tra la cultura giapponese, italiana, americana e così via, ho intenzione di dare del mio meglio qui ad Azuchi.

This class is for Beginners and Intermediates.
You can study Japanese for your daily life in this class.

国際交流サロン―ブラジル編―
7月12日(日)『国際交流サロンブラジル編』を開催しました。
ブラジル文化の紹介では、ブラジル料理や世界遺産
をはじめ、エジナさんの出身地の紹介もしていただき
ました。最後には○×クイズなどのクイズもあり、参加
しながらブラジル文化に触れることができ、楽しいひと
ときをすごすことができました！！
彦根市国際交流員の平田・エジナ・清美さんを講師として迎え、
料理教室とブラジル文化などの紹介をしていただきました。
料理教室ではブラジルのリンゴ酢を使用して作ったジャガイモの
サラダとブラジル風コロッケの『リゾリス』（ロシアのピロシキにも
似ていました）、ピーナッツのお菓子『パソカ』を作りました。
作り方も材料もシンプルで、日本人の味覚にも合っていて、
参加者の皆さんにも好評でした。

食事の時にはブラジルの日本人移民の歴史の話もしていただいて、
ブラジルをより身近に感じられたのではないかと思います。
このときに紹介していただいたのがブラジルでよく飲まれているお茶
『マテ茶』です。今回紹介していただいた冷たい水を注いで飲む方法
を『テレレ』というそうです。専用のストローで回し飲みするのがブラジ
ル流だそうです。参加者の皆さんも恐る恐るチャレンジされていまし
た。味はペパーミントに似ているかな？と思いました。

International Exchange Party ―Brazil―
In 12th July, 2009, we held “International Exchange Party Brazil”.
The teacher was Kiyomi Edna Hirata, who is Coordinator for
International Relations (CIR) in Hikone city.
she taught Brazilian cooking, and introduced Brazilian culture and so on.
Cooking Lecture
We made three kinds of dishes. First we made potato salad, which
flavored with apple vinegar. Next we made “Pacoca”. It is sweets
of peanuts. Finally we made “Resoles”. It liked Brazilian croquette.
(It liked “Piroshki” in Russia too.)
They were easy to cook, and their stuffs were simple. Moreover
Japanese liked their tasete, so participants were satisfied with them.
When we ate them, she talked about history of Japanese immigrants
in Brazil. We could know relation between Brazil and Japan.
Then she introduced about Brazilian tea “Mate tea”. They drink
and hand round the Mate tea in Brazil. Participants tried to drink
it cautiously. I thought that their taste liked peppermint.
Introduce Brazilian culture
She introduced Brazilian food, World Heritage Site and so on.
Besides she introduced her hometown.
Finally she made questions about Brazil, such as true or false
question.
We could touch the Brazilian culture, and we had a enjoyable time!!
