On Thursday, January the 28th we held the event on the English language. Participants were able to enter in contact with the English language while playing games and enjoying some small talk with our Coordinator for International Relations, Giulio.
We were able to play “word search” and “crossword” games. Notwithstanding the complicated spelling of some of the words, through Giulio’s help, participants were able to complete both games.
Hence, we challenged each other on “tongue twisters.” Similar sounding words in rapid succession were very confusing at the beginning, but through trials and tribulations, participants were able to master the pronunciation of most tongue twisters.
Finally, we did a “song quiz.” While listening to a famous movie song, “Stand by me,” participants had to answer to several questions related to the songs’ lyrics. While intonating the tune, everybody had the chance to answer the quiz.
This time we focused on games and quizzes, next time we would like to give more space to English conversation, giving everybody the chance to improve their language skills.
