We held the new year’s party of the Japanese class!

On Saturday, the 16th of January we held the new year’s party for our Japanese language class.

We spent our time enjoying games played during the new year as well as traditional crafts, such as Japanese calligraphy. It was the first time for most participants, nonetheless many of them had the opportunity to experience a typical new year’s atmosphere, through Japanese calligraphy and fukuwarai, Japan’s “pin the tail on the donkey,” played on a human face.
Teams of two challenged each other at fukuwarai and each of the participants had to use their native language, hence everybody was able to memorize several anatomic names in different languages. The timing and coordination between the pairs was amazing, the results excellent.

Subsequently, we made some Japanese sweet red bean soup, called zenzai, and while chit-chatting and eating we enjoyed our time very much. Everybody appreciated a Peruvian dish brought by a Peruvian participant.

This international relations meeting turned into a perfect opportunity to get in contact with each-other’s culture.
